Authorized by the Superior Court judges in late 1991, the Seminar for Divorcing Parents focuses on the impact that divorce, adjustment to a new family situation, visitation, etc., has on the children in these cases. Presented by trained family therapists in a group program, the seminar uses videos, role playing, and question and answer periods to present the information. A fee of $30.00 per participant is required payable by certified check, money order or cash. No personal checks or credit cards are accepted. The seminars are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Decatur Public Library located at 215 Sycamore Street, Decatur, Georgia. The first Wednesday hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the third Wednesday hours are 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a seminar on the second Friday of each month at the Courthouse, in the Jury Auditorium on the first floor. The Friday hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Additional seminars will be added as the case
load and number of attendees increases. Seating for seminars is
limited to fifty (50) participants. Registration is required to insure
a place.
