- Fees: All fees must be paid and the application must be processed at
the time of applying. We accept cash, checks, and money orders.
New applicant - $44.00
Renewal - $44.00
- You must be at least 21 years of age and a permanent resident of Thomas
County to apply for a firearms license.
- You must provide identification, such as a driver's license.
- All applications are sent to the F.B.I. and the G.B.I. for a criminal
background check. It takes an average of 90 days to receive a
license. Renewal licenses are generally received within one
week.
- Licenses are valid for 5 years.
- You may legally have a gun in your home, place of business and vehicle
without a license; however, if you carry a gun outside the confines
of your home, it is recommended that you purchase a Firearm's

- Georgia reciprocates in recognizing firearms licenses with
the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana,

North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and
