• Is unable to vote in person because of a physical disability
• Is an election official performing official duties
• Observes a religious holiday that falls on election day

• Is 75 years of age or older
• Gives constant care to a physically disabled person

Absentee Ballot Applications: Absentee ballot applications are available in the Chief Deputy Registrar’s office (Courthouse). An absentee ballot application is required for each election unless you are 75 years old or older or physically disabled or military personnel.

Requesting an Absentee Ballot: A separate application must be made for the Presidential Preference Primary. You may request an absentee ballot in person or by mail from the Chief Deputy Registrar’s Office (Tax Commissioner’s Office) at 250 North Broad Street, Cairo, GA. 39828. Absentee ballots are available 45 days prior to the election.

How to Return an Absentee Ballot: Absentee ballots must be returned to the Chief Deputy Registrar’s office through the U. S. Mail or by the voter in person, or a relative of a disabled voter by 5:00 p.m. on the election day, in order to be counted.
