The Magistrate Court is responsible for hearing all criminal misdemeanor and felony warrants. The court is also a small claims court where cases involving less than $15,000.00 can be handled. And, in civil cases, you may represent yourself. In other words, you do not need an attorney.
As your Chief Magistrate in Jeff Davis County, I strive to provide an impartial forum where all sides can be heard. With that in mind, I will greatly appreciate your taking a moment of your time to complete and e-mail this questionnaire.
