Fulton County Task Force Recommends Improvements for the Courts

Effective July 1, 2013 Judge Susan B. Forsling will retire from State Court, Division F. We wish her the best in as she starts a new chapter in her life.

July 1-5, 2013 no criminal calendars, including traffic will be held in either Magistrate or State Court. During this time all Justice Partners will be transitioning to its new case management system, and court personnel will not have access to case information during this time. Please call Court Administrator/Chief Clerk Cicely Barber for further details.

Process Server Application 

Order Re: Private Process Servers in the State Court of Fulton County 

Instructions to Applicant:
Effective January 1, 2013, any person who seeks to be appointed as a permanent process server in the Magistrate Court of Fulton County must apply for a new appointment order. Each new appointment order will authorize private process servers to serve Small Claim, Dispossessory, and Magistrate Court Garnishment legal actions in the Magistrate Court of Fulton County. Persons seeking to be appointed as a permanent process server in the Magistrate Court of Fulton County must have a current permanent process server appointment order in Fulton County Superior Court.

The application period for new 2013 applications will begin January 1, 2013 through February 4, 2013. All new appointment orders effective on or after January 2, 2012 will expire on December 31, 2013, regardless of when application was made or granted. All new applications effective January 1, 2013 and beyond will be one (1) year appointments. Persons wishing to continue to serve suits in the Magistrate Court of Fulton County on or after December 31, 2013 must re-apply for a new appointment order. The Fulton County Court Administration office will begin accepting new applications for 2014 appointments beginning Monday, September 30, 2013 through Friday, November 15, 2013.

Persons desiring to serve as a permanent process server shall complete an application with the Fulton County State Court Administrator's Office. Upon approval of the application by the Chief Judge, or her assignee, an Order will be issued. This process can take up to 6 weeks.

For those individuals who want to become a Permanent Process Server for Fulton County State Court; or you have previously been appointed a Permanent Process Server for Fulton County our office offers the application in paper form which you can pick up at our office location or you can download the application below.

You must bring two (2) things with you when you submit your application:

1. The $50 application fee in the form of cash, money order or business check.

2. A copy of your government issued I.D. or Driver’s License
