Atlanta, GA — The Judicial Council, chaired by Chief Justice Hugh P. Thompson, will meet at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel in Jekyll Island on June 4, 2014, to discuss a variety of proposals and reports.
Members will vote on appointees to the Board of Court Reporting, approval to put out for public comment proposed changes to Judicial Council policies governing the practice of court reporting and the fee schedule for court reporting services in criminal cases. Additionally, the Judicial Council will review for adoption the Electronic Court Filing Specification (ECF 4.01), the protocol that defines the electronic conversation between filers and courts.
The Judicial Council will hear reports from the Policy and Legislative Committee, Strategic Plan Implementation Committee, Budget Committee, Accountability Court Funding Committee, and the Council of Magistrate Court Judges Access to Courts Project. Reports from the appellate courts and trial court councils will also be delivered.
The 26-member Judicial Council of Georgia meets several times a year to act on policy and administrative matters of the judiciary. Judges of the appellate and trial courts at all levels are represented on the Council. For the agenda and meeting materials, please click here.
