Judicial Council to Meet in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA — The Judicial Council, chaired by Chief Justice P. Harris Hines, will meet at the Georgian Club in Atlanta on August 9, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to discuss a variety of action items and reports.

            The Council will hear reports from the Legislation Committee, the Budget Committee, the Technology Committee, and the Court Reporting Matters Committee. The Judicial Workload Assessment Committee will report on its recommendation for a superior court judgeship. Legislative remarks will be delivered by Rep. Rich Golick. Presiding Justice Harold Melton will present awards to the Law Day Art Contest Winners. Senior Judge James G. Bodiford will report on a trip to the Republic of Georgia at the request of the U.S. State Department.             The 27-member Judicial Council of Georgia meets several times a year to act on policy and administrative matters of the judiciary.
