Atlanta, GA — The Judicial Council, chaired by Chief Justice Hugh P. Thompson, will meet at the Carter Center in Atlanta on September 25, 2014, to discuss a variety of proposals and reports.
Members will vote on proposed legislative issues for the upcoming 2015 General Assembly, recommendations for additional superior court judgeships and circuit boundary alterations, policy recommendations regarding the policies and fees for court reporting services in criminal cases, and enhancement requests for the FY 2015 amended and FY 2016 budgets.
The Judicial Council will hear reports from the Accountability Court Committee, Strategic Plan Implementation Committee, Judicial Workload Assessment Committee, and the Justice Management Institute on the Implementation of Principles of an Effective Criminal Justice Response to the Challenges and Needs of Drug Involved Individuals. Reports from the appellate courts and trial court councils will also be delivered.
