Jefferson, GA — A belated celebration of Constitution Day 2017 (the official day was September 17) will take place on September 26th in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit with invited constituents who will experience a “Day on the Bench.”
In addition to observing court hearings, invitees will hear from Chief Justice P. Harris Hines, Supreme Court of Georgia; Regina Quick, former Representative of District 117; and Chief Judge David Motes, Superior Courts, Piedmont Judicial Circuit. The event provides an opportunity for the public to have a first-hand look at the role of the judge, the issues that are handled in court, and the day-to-day operations of a courtroom.
The event, which is sponsored by the Piedmont Judicial Circuit in partnership with the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts, will take place at the Jackson County Courthouse starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at noon, followed by lunch.
