Cobb County is located northwest of the City of Atlanta in Metropolitan Atlanta. The Superior Court Administrator works under the ten Superior Court Judges in non-judicial functions to operate the Court and its programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees and directs Superior Court Administration operations, Juvenile Court and all programs of the Cobb County Superior Court.
- Performs personnel management functions, e.g., interview, selection, hiring, employee development, disciplinary action, recommending promotion, and performance evaluations.
- Plans, organizes, assigns, reviews, and controls work production and activities, to include procedures, allocation of resources, problem resolution, training of employees, and employee orientation, including sexual harassment policy and procedures.
- Plans, allocates, and monitors time, people, equipment, and other resources for the Court to ensure efficient organization and completion of work.
- Provides information, advice, feedback, or assistance to others within the department to refine work outputs or resolve problems.
- Develops and recommends operating budget for the court annually; monitors and administers approved budget.
- Supervises the administration of the jury selection process to include, summons, re-scheduling, orientation, daily reference and activity records, paying of jurors and balancing jury accounts.
- Maintains effective working relationship with judges, attorneys, court personnel, jurors and the public.
- Provides technical support to all courts
- Coordinates with State and local agencies including drafting and presenting legislation requests to both the State Legislature and the County Commissioners and attends legislative and commission meetings as required.
- Publishes the monthly court schedule of the judges.
- Represents the County at various functions such as making speeches at civic and business associations, meeting with officials, citizens, and other persons within the community and representatives of the press to establish goodwill and resolve/respond to issues.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry, regulatory and legislative developments affecting state court services to ensure application to areas of responsibility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or related field; supplemented by progressively responsible experience in administration, the majority of which shall have been in a management capacity with responsibility for budget administration, regulatory compliance and personnel management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
